Dusit Thani Plc (DTC) announced it incurred loss equal to Bt6.01 million compared to Bt81.07 million net profits gained in the same last year, a Bt81.07 million decline as following reasons: 1.DTC and outside restuarants made lower profits (13.71) million baht This was caused by unclearance of Electrical Transportation Metropolitan Project. 2.Commercial townhouse lower (5.4) million baht 3.Dusit Resort Pattaya Hotel higher 1.8 million baht 4.Interest expenses lower 4.2 million baht 5.Interest receivable lower (13.55) million baht 6.Loss from exchange rate higher (20.65) million baht As it borrowed loans in US dollar currency. 7.Hotel Vocational college 1.2 million baht In 1997, DTC transferred Hotel Vocational college to Royal Princess Plc and loss remained at Bt1.2 million. 8.Other 12.84 million baht Total (33.27) million baht Included gain/loss in subsidiaries and joint ventures higher (48.10) million baht The company attributed higher gain/loss to realisation of gain/loss in Royal Princess Plc, incurring loss equivalent to Bt6.7 million while in Q1 /1996 generating Bt2.2 million profit as 2 new hotels including Royal Princess Srinakarin Hotel and Royal Princess Ranong Hotel were just founded. Dusit Sinthorn Co Ltd incurred loss at Bt24.2 million higher whereas Nikko Hotel in Manila realised Bt11.01 million lower.
