Dusit Thani Plc (DTC) reported that it will arrange the meeting to be held on September 24, 1996, at 2.00 p.m. to consider about the company's land expropriation made by the government. The meeting is held at Dusit Thani Hall Room, Dusit Thani Hotel. In this meeting, Dr. Akasit Limsuwan was invited as an honerable lecturer. DTC was perviously informed by a director of Bangkok Transit System Corporation (BTSC) that BTSC will construct subway electric train station at Silom in which area are a parking lot located in front of Dusit Thani Hotel. The construction of the station included the 3 floors underground building. The project period has been last long for five years. The construction will directly affect the company's hotel business operation. There is a legislation determining about the expropriated plot of lands located at Jathujak, Phathumwab, Sumpanthawong, Bangrak, Sathorn and Klongteau. The land plots will be used in the constrution of subway electric trains and passengers' parking lots, including the businesses that will be operated as a benefits of BTSC. The legislation was effective since August 29, 1996 onwards. Later, there was a announcement draft from House of Government determined about the above-mentioned real estate urgent expropriation. This will facilitate the officer (BSTC's director) or an authorized person to be able to use those plot of lands without waiting for expropriated Act. If the announcement draft and the legislation have been approved by the cabinet and have been publicly announced, BTSC will legally use those land plots. However, BTSC intended to inform the land owners to acknowledge the issue 60 days in advance. Translated by the Nation
