Some securities to be traded on a call market basis
Some securities to be traded on a call market basis
Securities of firms not meeting regulations of The Stock
Exchange of Thailand (SET) on minority shareholding will be
traded on a call market basis.
According to SET regulations, "Maintaining the Status of Listed
Companies on the Exchange", all such firms must have at least
150 minority shareholders of common stock, holding at least 15%
of paid-up capital in total, as shown by the shareholder list
used for the firms annual general meeting.
Any company not meeting this requirement has one year to rectify
the situation. Should a company not meet these conditions
within a year, SET will consign its securities to be traded
on a call market basis.
There are 5 companies who, for two consecutive years, have not satisfied
the "minority shareholder" requirement. Consequently, SET will consign their
securities to be traded on a call market basis, from July 12, 2006,
until the situation is rectified.
1. From July 12, 2006, common shares of these companies will be traded
on a call market basis :
1.1. Samitivej PCL (SVH)
1.2. City Sports and Recreation PCL (CSR)
1.3. PAE (Thailand) PCL (PAE). As this company is now in rehabilitation,
its securities are under suspension (SP),and not being traded.
2. Trading on a call market basis is deferred for two companies:
2.1. Dusit Thani PCL (DTC) securities will be traded on a call market
basis, effective November 15, 2006, should company not meet the "minority
shareholder" requirement by October 31, 2006.
2.2. Sawang Export PCL (SAWANG) securities will be traded on a call
market basis, effective September 15, 2006, should company not meet the
"minority shareholder" requirement by August 31, 2006.

The "call market"
The "call market" is a trading method that automatically matches buy
and sell orders at a specific time and price ("Single Price Auction").
Buy or sell offers are made just as they are in regular trading.
However, the trading system randomly matches buy and sell orders
at only three specific times:
1. pre-opening of the morning session (09:55 - 10:00 hours)
2. pre-opening of the afternoon session (14:25 - 14:30 hours)
3. close of the trading day (16:35 - 16:40 hours)
Call market sequencing of buy or sell orders operates in the same way
as the continuous-order matching method, using the best bid or offering price
and timing order ("Price and Time Priority"). The securities remain in their
original sectors, but a "CM" sign is posted indicating that they are being
traded on a call market basis.
