The consolidated Statements of Income of Dusit Thani Plc. for the third quarter of 2004 compared to the
same quarter in 2003 states the revenue of Baht 589.76 million an increase by Baht 59.27 million or
11.17%. Loss before the extraordinary item totals to Baht 44.49 million. When include gain from debt
restructuring of subsidiaries, extraordinary item, Baht 261.02 million, net profit totals to Baht 216.53
million. For the 9 months period in 2004 compared with the same period in 2003, earned a total revenue
of Baht 1,801.88 million, an increase by Baht 201.07 million or 12.56%. Profits before the extraordinary
item totals to Baht 80.09 million, decreased by Baht 113.46 million or 58.62%. With the inclusion of the
extraordinary item, gain from debt restructuring of subsidiaries Baht 261.02 million, net profit totals to
Baht 341.11 million.
Hotel business performance for the third quarter and the 9 months was better in general and revenue of
the Company increased but the Company's profit before the extraordinary item decreased because the
expenses increased which were selling and administrative expense due to advertising and promotion for
rooms, newly renovated conference facilities and several F&B outlets such as the Italian outlet il cielo, the
French outlet D'sens and MyBar, added with expenses incurred from hiring more staff in preparation for
the Company's future expansion. Depreciation and amortization increased due to depreciation incurred
by the recent renovations of the hotel and Income Tax increased.
The Company has completed 70% of the renovations of the Dusit Thani Hotel Bangkok and the remaining
work will be completed in 2005. The Company is confident that once renovations are completed and
should there be no further external affecting the hotel and tourist industries, the Company's revenue
should increase.
