INFORM PROFIT FOR QUARTER 3' 2001 DECREASE FROM YEAR 2000

Translation The Consolidated Financial Statements of Dusit Thani Public Company Limited for the Quarter ended September 30, 2001 showed the net profit of Baht 56.6 Million which decreased by Baht 14.2 Million or 20.01%, compared with the same period of year 2000. However, for the nine - month period ended September 30, 2001, the net profit was Baht 331.5 Million which increased by Baht 47.3 Million or 16.67 %, compared with the same period of year 2000. The reason was that on July 3, 2001 the Company paid to the Official Receiver under section 230 of the Civil and Commercial Code of Thailand in case against Dusit Resort Pattaya's Building on behalf of World Intertrade Corporation Limited in order to protect the company's image and reputation of its hotel business. The Company recorded World Intertrade Corporation Limited as a debtor of the Company and recorded the allowance for doubtful account of Baht 41.05 Million. Therefore, a decrease in third quarter net profit was not from direct operation. Without considering the above issue, the net profit for the nine months in year 2001 increased because most of our hotels performed better than last year especially Dusit Resort Pattaya.
