YEAR 2000 COMPLIANCE STATUS-TO-DATE

Year 2000 Compliance
Status-to-Date
Comprehensive inventory analysis and identification of all systems and
processes requiring Y2K resolution has been undertaken by Dusit Thani
Public Co., Ltd.. On August 24th and 25th a Y2K workshop was conducted
where all Dusit Hotel Executives, General Managers, Middle Managers and
Key Hotel Staff (Front Office, Back Office and POS) participated. All
levels were made aware of the urgency of the situation and the requirements
and deadlines to implement necessary solutions. The resolution management
committee and working team management have been formed and Y2K
master plan has been finalized.
An Inventory and Impact Analysis workshop was conducted on Tuesday,
August 25th. Every participant contributed significantly. Several steps
have been initiated and implemented to correct the Y2K deficiencies.
An Inventory and Impact Analysis chart was developed identifying problem
areas and solutions are in progress. Contingency and emergency plans are
being implemented. One hotel, The Dusit Thani Fulbari, is currently 100%
Year 2000 compliant. There are other hotels, such as Dusit Resort Pattaya,
Dusit Thani Bangkok, Dusit Hotel Nikko, Patumwan Princess, and Royal
Princess Srinakarin, have been working on Y2K compliance are over 35%
Y2K compliant. All other hotels, thoroughly aware of the problem, are
working closely with Dusit Headquarters to become totally Y2K compliant.
Remedial action has been taken at the group level as delineated below:
Awareness Campaign
- Awareness Phase and Inventory Assessment have been initiated since 3rd
quarter of 1997. The Year 2000 Compliance Workshops scheduled at
Headquarters on August 24-25, 1998 involved participants from all the
Company+s properties. This workshop will cover all phases of the Year
2000 Compliance program: Renovation Phase, Validation/Test Phase,
and Implementation Phase.
- A Year 2000 Compliance World Wide Web home page on the Internet
has been created for communication links and information updates
among the hotels. The address is as follows:

- A tentative master schedule and timeline (see appendix attached) for the
Year 2000 program has been generated and transmitted to Executive
Management for review and approval.
Inventory Phase
- An integrated Y2K Compliance matrix for the twenty-two (22) hotels
has been partially completed (Inventory).
Cost/Impact Assessment
- Cost and Impact assessments for specific Property Management Systems
are in progress.
- Most of the hotel hardware, software, and network vendors have been
contacted to assess the amount of work and costs required to solve the
Year 2000 problem, and to ensure their participation in providing
solutions.
Renovation/Modification
- A few of the group+s hotels have already initiated fixes for the Y2K
problem to their systems such as Dusit Resort Pattaya, Dusit Thani
Bangkok, Princess Srinakarin, and Princess Chiang Mai.
Validation/Test
- This task will take up about 45% of the Year 2000 compliance program
time and must be well planned and properly managed. Validation & test
programs are being generated for the properties with their respective
vendors/suppliers.
Conclusion
- Year 2000 resolution plan has been submitted to the Board of Directors
of the Company. Further, the Board has given direction for the
Company+s IT Department, together with Executive Management, to
form a Y2K Resolution Committee to work on the master plan. This plan
shall include scheduling and budgeting, for execution and
implementation.
