Dusit Thani Plc (DTC) announced audited annaul financial statement as follows: Ending December 31, For year Year 1996 1995 DTC Net profit (loss) 35,596 183,789 EPS (baht) 0.59 3.80 Dusit Thani Plc (DTC) exposed the causes of lower net profits in 1996 performance as follows: Net profits ended December 31, 1995 183.79 million baht Net profits ended December 31, 1996 35.60 million baht Net profits, therefore, decreased by 148.19 million baht or 80.63% down the causes as shown below: 1.Dusit Thani Hotel : profits lower by (20.20) million baht 2.Dusit Resort Pataya : profits higher by 6.79 million baht 3.Dusit Hotel & Resort: profits higher by 7.74 million baht 4.Leased commercial buildings : profits lower by (14.09) million baht 5.Expenses of central office lower by 8.10 million baht 6.Legadan, Sechuan retuarants, Cyber Pub : profits lower by (0.44) million baht 7.Hotel vacational training school, Chiang Mai domitory : profits higher 6.74 million baht 8.Loss from exchange rate (21.73) million baht This was caused by increase amount of loans -On Dec 31, 1995 it gained profits from exchange rate at Bt8.06 million. -On Dec 31, 1996, to contrary, it suffered loss posting Bt29.78 million baht. 9.Interest receivable lower (60.38) million baht 10.Interest expenses higher (13.32) million baht 11.Income tax 25.05 million baht 12.Gain/loss and losses realisation in subsidiaries(72.45) million baht Subsequently, net profits lower by (148.19) million baht
